Nobody Reads Your Medium Articles Because It’s Your Fault
Stop Making Excuses
You spend hours writing meticulously crafted articles that no one reads.
You publish religiously every week, follow all the “rules”, use pretty images, impeccable formatting, and yet your numbers are miserable. You have zero claps, zero comments, and those three views are probably from your mom, your best friend, and that spammer who accidentally clicked on your profile and commented “Nice Job” (This has become a trend here on Medium).
But you keep doing exactly the same thing, expecting different results. Didn’t Einstein have something to say about that?
And still, you persist with the same failed strategy, blaming the algorithm, the publication time, or the lack of support from Medium readers.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but your problem isn’t technical — it’s human, and I’ll explain why. You’re so busy trying to master the “secret techniques” of writing that you’ve completely forgotten to do the basics: writing for real people.
Let me repeat that: “Writing for real people!”
When was the last time you actually read the comments on popular Medium articles?
