When Sex Becomes a Bargaining Chip

Let’s get real for a second.

Sometimes marriage can turn into an emotional wasteland. A coworker of mine is going through this, and man, it ain’t pretty.

She told me her husband can barely touch her without her tensing up. What used to be fire is now pure ice. No more making out on the couch, no quickies before work. Sex? It’s become an endangered species.

And it’s not just in the bedroom that things have gone south. The vibe’s soured everywhere. Even changing clothes in front of each other has become a big deal. It’s like they’ve gone back to being awkward teenagers, but without the fun part.

The worst part? Nobody’s talking about it. It’s that elephant in the room everyone pretends not to see. She told me sometimes she wants to yell, “Hey, remember when we used to have sex?” But she just swallows hard and goes back to her phone.

But let’s get serious. What the hell happened? She told me at first it was just tiredness. Work, kids, bills to pay. You know how it is, right? But then it became a habit. And habit turned into the rule.
