In Toronto, two friends turned a crazy idea into a multi-million dollar business. Aaron Spivak and Leor Ohayon weren’t your typical entrepreneurs. Aaron ran a juice shop, while Leor was deep into the software world. Aaron’s initial idea? Selling cricket protein. “I brought the idea to Leor and he said, ‘That’s disgusting!’,” Aaron laughs.
But fate had other plans. A quick Google search revealed an unexpected opportunity: 300,000 people were searching for weighted blankets. It was the “eureka” moment that would kickstart Hush.
“Sleepless Nights: The Price of the Dream”
Launching Hush was an endurance marathon. “I’d open my juice shop at 6 AM until 2 or 3 PM,” Aaron explains. “Then we’d meet up every day around 7 PM at Leor’s apartment and work until 1 or 2 AM.”
With just basic images and a sample, they created a pre-order website and bought Google ads. The result? “On the first day, we made about 20 bucks. The next day, three sales. We thought, ‘Oh my God, we’re gonna buy Ferraris!’”
